The guest came from Australia from the bush. His name was Mark. He told us something about his home and that the nearest city is 20 km away from his house. Once a year he has a meeting with all bush people. Mark is 58 years old and the name from the nearest city is Moss Vale. In the lesson we could ask Mark some questions. Something about jobs, about special animals about the times in the year that summer is in December and winter in Junly. Mark told us about the bush and the people. We brought something to eat for the whole class and Mark. Then was the end of the lesson and Mark must go home. (Fabian)

Report on Mark’s visit

On Wednesday 29th August 2012 we had a visitor in our English lesson. Mark Williamson is a 58 years old man who lives in Australia and he went to Germany for 2 months. Mark’s hometown in Australia is Moss Vale. He visited us because he is an Aussie and we have Australia as a topic. He answered all our questions about Australia and gave us lots of information on Australia. Before Mark’s visit we organized and planned a breakfast for him and for us. In the English lesson before his visit we got into groups of four pupils and got a topic and we had to write 6 questions about the topic. These questions we had to ask Mark. He answered all the questions completely and good. While he answered the questions we took notes. He often drew pictures on the blackboard to the answers (he made it easier for us to understand the answers). After all the questions and answers we had a breakfast. For the breakfast every student brought something. It was very tasty and made us all full. There was also something to drink. After breakfast some students still had some questions and asked him these questions. Before the end of the lesson we still talked a little. The talk was very very very well because it was interesting, funny, full of information and tasty. I learned a lot about Australia, too. I learned things which I never thought of (e.g. that the nearest neighbours are 7.5 km away). It was a very fantastic day. Mark is a very nice man but sad was that he was only one English lesson with us. This was a report about our great English lesson. (Samia)

(23.12.2012) Australien – Land der Kängurus, Koalas und des Busches.
